We were in Singapore for work when we were invited for a night ride with local fixed gear riders. The whole ride lasted from 9pm to 3am and the route covered roughly about a quarter of Singapore. Having ridden a fixie in other metropolitan areas such as New York, Berlin, Tokyo, and Seoul, it didn't take much to feel comfortable. In fact, it felt like we fit right in with the local riders. There definitely is a common ground fixed gear riders share globally - the bikes they ride, how they ride them, and so on. It was a mixture of Keirin bikes, Italian steel track bikes, to souped up Cinelli Mash bikes, and serious machines, such as Dolan DF3. It was a blast and we felt so lucky to be a part of it. Big ups to Cycle Project Store, the hottest fixed gear shop in Singapore. You can check them out on cycleprojectstore.com.
